Derby – A match between teams from the same city or region.
Favorit, Jolly, Chalk – According to predictions, a stronger team or player. The designation for a part that has a great chance to win the event.
Outsider, Underdog, Rag (UK slang) – An estimated weaker team, a player.
Draw, Push, Tie – When the contest ends with no winner or loser.
Livescore – interim results of matches.
Dime – Slang term for a $1000 sports bet.
Home field advantage – refers to the perceived advantages enjoyed by the home team.
MVP (Most Valuable Player) – Bets placed on an individual player to be the Most Valuable Player over a season or series throughout a competition (typically basketball and the NBA).
